A painting of your favourite place
The idea
It starts with a chat about the place, the size of your wall, and any photos you have. If it is possible, I will visit the spot or the area to get a feel for the place. If it is more an idea or feeling of a certain area, I research the area — and again, may visit. I like to travel and stay in new places and paint; it all adds to my knowledge of this beautiful country.
The painting
I will start with sketches and small layouts to get the balance and form right, then I may do a few different examples of colours and compositions, which I will send to you via email or WhatsApp — whichever works for you. Once we have agreed on the palette and composition, we will look at trying a tighter version, closer to the final idea. There are no costs for these field or studio sketches, as they are very popular to sell on my website. Once we have agreed the final tweaks, I will start the final piece — and I will drop you regular updates to ensure we are still on the right path.
Delivery
I will in most instances deliver by hand at a pre-arranged date, so that I can ensure the finished piece is perfect for you and that you are happy with the final result. On occasion I will be happy to have it delivered if distant circumstances dictate; in these cases we will send more extensive photos, or usually a video or live session.

Price guide
Prices vary with the size, complexity and type of canvas required, and the medium used. I will be happy to go through the process of costing with you.
- A large triptych — around 3m by 1m — roughly £2,500
- A small piece — around 1m by 1m — roughly £600 to £800
You will not be charged for the work until you are happy with the end piece, as again I can sell these works through my website. If special requests that involve extra travel, material or time are needed, this can be discussed at the start of the commission.
